This slow, beautiful movie about real people in the real Deep
South will bring both smiles and tears. The filmmakers let the people tell their
stories, and their fears--very real concerns. Robert is a transgender female to
male, who is dying of ovarian cancer because when he had the surgery, the
doctors wouldn't give him a hysterectomy, and when he developed cancer, they
wouldn't treat him as it "would embarrass their other patients."
Adult male bovine excrement! However, with trans people in the news so much, I
think this movie should be seen by everyone, especially those who dislike/fear
trans. I think it will be a real eye-opener to many people. This movie is also
an indictment to the medical profession of the Deep South. A poignant and
ultimately uplifting film to be watched by all.
