Chick Flick for the Silver Haired

Canadian/English 1990 DVD/Netflix
Director: Cynthia Scott

A delightful story of 1 middle aged and 6 elderly women stranded in the Canadian wilderness and how they survive until rescued. The individual women tell their stories, admit their fears, face their mortality with a few tears and a great deal of humor. None of the women are like the others - there is a Mohawk elder, a nun, a stroke survivor - or come from similar backgrounds. Some are braver than others, but they come together and face their adversity through recollections of their earlier lives. Never too old to learn, they teach each other new skills-from making a weir for catching fish to dance. Strangers in Good Company is a charming, delightful, poignant look at aging and how it affects those of us fortunate enough to get there. Rainy Day has seen it twice;-)
